I am a writer and radio producer.​

 

I've written four books which you can read about here, and articles for the Guardian, Prospect, LRB and others, and I produce and appear on BBC radio programmes.

I mostly write about concealed agendas, disavowed power, hidden injustices and fake solutions. For example, how the demonisation of cultural and intellectual 'elites' diverts fire from the real elites; how feminism falters in the transition to motherhood; and the strange prevalence of digital bureaucracy.
