I am a writer, radio producer and Visiting Fellow at Jesus College, Cambridge.

 

I have written five books which you can read about here, and articles for the Guardian, Prospect, LRB, Aeon and other places, and I produce and appear on BBC radio programmes.

I write about concealed agendas, disavowed power, hidden injustices and fake solutions. For example, how the demonisation of cultural and intellectual 'elites' diverts fire from the real economic elites; how the language of grassroots democratisation enables monopolies; how natural childbirth ideology is presented as feminist empowerment; and how the toxification of authority and ideology harms us all.
